Arsenal defender, Gabriel Magalhaes has survived an injury scare over the international break to be fit for the Gunners’ trip to Goodison Park to take on Everton on Sunday.

The Gunners haven’t won at Everton in the league in SIX years, since the 2017/18 season. Arsenal will know full well how difficult a place Goodison Park is to go to in the Premier League considering their record at the ground. Mikel Arteta will need his best team available to get a positive result on Sunday so having Gabriel fit will be a big boost for the Arsenal manager.

Gabriel made his Brazil debut last week in their victory over Bolivia and he also completed another 90 minutes on Tuesday night when they faced Peru to end the international break. Gabriel started both games for his country, however Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli started both games on the bench meaning they should be well rested before returning to London Colney on Thursday.

The Brazilian centre-back had a little bit of an injury scare during Brazil’s first match against Bolivia. Gabriel came off the pitch late in the game with an ice pack strapped to his thigh. However recent scans have showed no sign of an injury with the 25-year-old expected to be fit and available for Arsenal’s trip to Goodison Park up next.

Gabriel has formed a brilliant partnership with William Saliba in the centre of the Arsenal defence over the last year and it’s expected both players will remain in the line-up for Sunday’s game.

Arsenal have won three and drawn one of their opening four Premier League games this season, however already sit two points behind the Champions, Manchester City. The trip to Goodison Park on Sunday is already a must win game in the eyes of the Arsenal fans who don’t want to see Pep Guardiola’s side get away this early on with the Gunners aiming to put together another title challenge this season.
