Christian Eriksen has been named as Manchester United’s Player of the Month for September 2022.
Eriksen had a total 62 % of the vote for his efforts, seeing off competition from fellow nominees, Jadon Sancho (28%) and Varane(10%) to win the award in only his second month at Manchester United.
The 33 year old Dannish Midfielder has continued to blossom in a deeper midfield role, alongside Scott McTominay, for Erik ten Hag’s side in recent matches.
Eriksen put up an excellent performance as Manchester United took the 3 points against Southampton, three days before arguably his best United showing so far, against Premier League leaders Arsenal.
The Denmark International was the key to the winning as the Reds defeated the Gunners at Old Trafford. He played a huge part in Marcus Rashford’s first goal of the afternoon, with a smart pass to Bruno Fernandes, before his unselfish assist to Rashford for his second.
Eriksen positivity during his first-half display in the Europa League match against Real Sociedad, before producing a Man-of-the-Match-winning showing last time out at Sheriff Tiraspol, with an assist for Sancho’s opener being the highlight on that fixture.
Eriksen’s award means back-to-back Player of the Month awards have been claimed by Man United’s summer signings, following Lisandro Martinez’s success in August.
In September’s poll, after Eriksen, Sancho earned 28 per cent of the vote with the remaining 10 received by Varane.
