Five Summer Signings Who Scored On Their League Debuts For Their New Teams Over The Weekend

League games across top European clubs resumed in full over the weekend. Bayern Munich defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 6-1, Liverpool drew 2-2 with Fulham, Paris Saint Germain won 5-0 against Clermont FC, Chelsea defeated Everton 1-0,and Manchester United did Manchester United things by losing at Old Trafford to Brighton and Hove Albion.

A spree of goals and new faces on the score sheet for different top European clubs were seen,while a few upsets were noticed here and there. Top players from last season also delivered their first official league game of the season.

Again,a few top players impressed as a few managers got to taste life in a different team or league from the ones they were used to last season.

               

Here are some notable new signings who scored a goal on their league debut for their new teams;

1. Erling Braut Haaland

A penalty and a well taken sitter saw Manchester City’s new number 9 Erling Haaland score a brace against West Ham United in the Premier League at the weekend. The Norwegian striker used a brace to announce himself at England on his Premier League debut for the Citizens.

2. Darwin Núñez

Liverpool’s new striker signing Darwin Núñez got a goal and an assist after coming off the bench for Jurgen Klopp’s men at the weekend against Fulham. The Uruguay striker will be hoping to add more to his tally this season.

3. Sadio Mane

In Bayern Munich’s 6-1 thrashing of Eintracht Frankfurt at the weekend,the Bavarians new player Sadio Mane bagged himself a goal as a way to announce himself to the rest of the Bundesliga teams,his second official goal since joining the German team.

4. Luis Suarez

On his debut for Nacional FC,former FC Barcelona’s striker Luis Suarez scored a goal to help his team to a comfortable win,as he made his return to the club where his football career started before he made it to Europe.

5. Aaron Ramsey

In OGC Nice first league game of the season,the club’s latest signing Aaron Ramsey scored a 78′ minute equalizer away from home for his team,on his first official league game for the club. The former Juventus player will be hoping to bag more Ligue 1 goals next season with his new club.
