Jesper Lindstrom has welcomed rumors that he would transfer to Arsenal, but he acknowledges that he must make the “correct” decision for his future.
WHAT OCCURED? For Bundesliga team Eintracht Frankfurt, the playmaker from Denmark who can also play as a winger continues to draw attention. Prior to the January transfer market opening, speculation is rife about him moving to Emirates Stadium after helping them win the Europa League last year.
WHAT THEY SAID: Regarding the alleged interest from Emirates Stadium, Lindstrom told Tipsbladet, “It is difficult not to read along when articles surface on your Facebook, Instagram, and other social media. Naturally, I read it, but I don’t give it any thought. Since there is now no transfer window open, I’m just giving it my all and waiting to see what happens.
“Playing in the top league in the world is always fantastic, but I’m not sure if Arsenal is the ideal place for me.
I’m in a fantastic spot right now in Frankfurt, but it’s nice that teams like them are keeping an eye on me. At the moment I’m fine, but at some time something may need to happen.
It gives me a lot more confidence. I’m certainly really thrilled since it’s one of the biggest accomplishments for a football player.
THE BIGGER PICTURE: Lindstrom led Eintracht with five goals and as many assists last season, and through 11 matches in 2022–23, he has already scored three goals.
WHAT WILL LINDSTROM DO NEXT? In the most recent round of UEFA Nations League games, the 22-year-old played for Denmark and came off the bench in their impressive 2-0 triumph over reigning world champions France.
