Manchester United Probable Line Up Against Tottenham Hotspur

Erik ten Hag could be missing up to seven first-team players when his team plays Tottenham on Wednesday.

Manchester United is trying to stay in touch with the top four clubs in the Premier League by playing Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Wednesday night. Erik ten Hag is missing a number of first-team players right now, and Express Sport lists the seven names of those who might not play against Antonio Conte’s team.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Aaron Wan-Bissaka hasn’t featured for United since the 2-1 win over Liverpool in August and has been described as a long-term absentee by Ten Hag. The right-back is understood to be suffering from a muscular issue and still won’t be available on Wednesday.

Harry Maguire

Harry Maguire continues to recover from a hamstring injury suffered on international duty and is expected to return to training this week. However, the Tottenham game will likely come too early for him, and Saturday’s trip to Chelsea is a more realistic return target.

Axel Tuanzebe

Axel Tuanzebe is yet to make a single appearance for United this season as he battles an unspecified injury. But with three centre-backs currently at Ten Hag’s disposal, it’s up in the air whether he’d fill a spot on the bench even if fit.

Brandon Williams

Brandon Williams is in the same boat. The 22-year-old full-back will have been useful in providing cover for Diogo Dalot in Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s absence, but he’s also suffered an unspecified injury. He is also expected to be out of action for the foreseeable future.

Donny van de Beek

Donny van de Beek hasn’t been able to properly show former manager Ten Hag what he can do in English football during an injury-stricken season so far. The Dutch midfielder is suffering from a muscular injury and won’t be returning to action this week.

Christian Eriksen

Christian Eriksen has been crucial this term and was sorely missed as United slumped to a 0-0 stalemate against Newcastle United at the weekend. The Dane was taken ill, but there will be hope that he’s fit and firing again in time to face his former club on Wednesday.

Anthony Martial

Ten Hag admitted that he’d hoped Anthony Martial would’ve been ready to play a part against Newcastle after returning to training from a back problem, but it came too soon. The French forward may not start against Tottenham, but there’s a good chance he will get involved from the bench.

Predicted United XI:

De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Shaw; Casemiro, Eriksen; Antony, Fernandes, Sancho; Rashford.
