Liverpool are still seeking an additional midfielder before the transfer window slams shut at the end of this month, Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch is thought to be appreciated by Jurgen Klopp himself.
The Reds recently sent a delegation to Germany in an attempt to acquire more information around a potential transfer for the 21-year-old, Now Thomas Tuchel is open to letting Gravernberch leave the club and Bayern boss reportedly wants to re-invest any fee received for the Dutch international into signing a holding midfielder.
Tuchel has held reservations about the strength of his squad in midfield and he believed that the German manager does not think Joshua Kimmich is traditional defensive midfielder and is also not entirely convinced on Leon Goretzka. The acquistion of Konrad Laimer from RB Leipzig has done little to change the mind of Tuchel.
The Bavarian club’s hierarchy has reportedly informed Tuchel that a new #6 won’t be signed this summer, but this stance could change depending on player sales. Liverpool have now received a potential boost in their pursuit of Gravenberch, but must be aware of any interference from Manchester United.
The Red Devils are also interested in the player, but their financial situation suggests that they cannot bid for Gravenberch unless they manage to sell players.
