The road to recovery for Haaland

Erling Haaland is back in the mix for selection after an absence of nearly two months.

Since the defeat at Aston Villa in early December, the Norwegian had not played until he came on as a second-half substitute in Wednesday night’s triumph against Burnley.

The winner of last season’s Premier League Golden Boot is once again contending for the trophy, currently tied with Mo Salah at 14 goals.

With 71 goals in 76 appearances for City, our No.9 has solidified his status as one of the world’s best players since joining Manchester in the summer of 2022.

However, a stress reaction in his foot from the Villa clash kept him sidelined for 10 matches until his recent return.

Haaland’s journey back to full fitness has involved substantial effort, and our photographers documented every step.

Following the squad’s trip to Saudi Arabia for December’s FIFA Club World Cup, the striker has been dedicatedly working in Manchester and Abu Dhabi.
